Victorex Connections
ATE DOWNLOAD PAGE

This page is for Victorex customers and prospective customers who wish to download and install ATE (ASHELL Terminal Emulator), a terminal emulation communication program that can be used to run our RPMRS (Resort Property Management Reservation System) software over the Internet. The download file is about 7 megabytes in size and can be downloaded in anywhere from one to thirty minutes, depending on connection speed. ATE can only be used to connect to server running the ASHELL software that Victorex uses to power RPMRS. It is not a general purpose telnet client.

ATE will only run on 32-bit versions of Microsoft WINDOWS and is fully compatible with both WINDOWS XP and WINDOWS VISTA.

ATE can be used without payment of a license fee, at the price of dealing with an annoying popup that keeps appearing on your screen. Generally when using ATE with Victorex software, Victorex will take care of the licensing details, although there is a charge for an ATE license. A big advantage over ZTERM is that no matter what happens to your PC, your ATE license lasts "forever."

When downloading, please note the directory receiving the download file, which is named "ate50.exe." You must execute this file to actually install ATE after it has been downloaded. The recommeded way to do this is to find the ATE50 icon on your desktop, or in the directory where you saved it, and Double Click on it. You should get a prompt asking if you want to install the software. Click OK.

When configuring ATE, the defaults will generally work, except you should be sure to select "AM62CG Color" for terminal emulation. Good choices for a font are True-Type Andale Mono (if available) or Lucida Console.

If you are planning to use ATE to test our "RPMRS On The Web" software, you will need to call or e-mail us for the access information.
